Crawl Space Encapsulation in Murrells Inlet
Challenge
When the HVAC Tech from Carolina Cool was under the home they noticed insulation that was out of place. He showed pictures to the homeowner and gave them our company's contact information at Carolina Energy Conservation to inspect the crawlspace for further home comfort. We did indeed find that the previous insulation barrier was giving way due to age and it is time and some of the insulation contained mold. This is common in an unencapsulated crawlspace due to moisture and air leaking.
Solution
Our solution is to remove moldy, damaged insulation from the crawl space ceiling by removing the old fiberglass and wrap. Once the area is properly treated we install new fiberglass batts in the flooring system with wire supports.
